U.S. Athletes Regina Jaquess, Katie Mawby Honored By IWWF Sport Discipline Councils

The International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation’s sport discipline councils (Cable Ski, Cable Wakeboard, Disabled, Show Ski, Wakeboard Boat and Water Ski) have selected their respective 2022 Male & Female Skiers of the Year.
U.S. athletes Regina Jaquess (Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.) and Katie Mawby (Grand Haven, Mich.) were selected Female Skiers of the Year for water ski and disabled, respectively.
Jaquess won women’s slalom titles at the Swiss Pro Slalom, U.S. Masters, Lake 38 Pro-Am, World Games, Goode Nationals, Hilltop Pro-Am, Malibu Open, Travers Grand-Prix Pro-Am, Miami Pro Slalom and IWWF Pan American Water Ski Championships.
Mawby won gold medals in Vision Impaired Women slalom and tricks and set a pending world tricks record of 1,140 points in round 2 at the 2022 Adaptive Water Ski National Championships in Paducah, Ky. She also was selected to the 2023 USA Adaptive Water Ski Team that will compete in the 2023 IWWF World Disabled Water Ski Championships in Elk Grove, Calif.
