Silver Lake wins Division 2 Nationals
Joy was the dominant emotion for Silver Lake as their Inside Out performance brought in 1386.13 points and a 1st place victory at the Division 2 Show Ski Nationals August 2-3, 2025. A small but mighty jump team delivered a top performance, earning the highest scoring jump award and 3 successful prebuilt pyramids earned the highest scoring pyramid award. Silver Lake also took home awards for highest scoring dock and equipment personnel and highest scoring tow boat driving.
Ski Sprites crossed the big blue to find Nemo and 1331.17 points for a 2nd place finish. The synchronized swimming earned them the highest scoring comedy award, and the Sprites also took home highest scoring pick-up boat and showmanship awards. Our host team, the Ski Broncs, earned highest scoring production, sound and announcing crew, swivel, doubles, and barefoot, which was also the highest scoring act of the tournament. Lake Saint Louis Arch Rivals earned the highest scoring ballet.
Lexie Affrica (Silver Lake) followed up her Central Regionals Female MVP award with the Division 2 Female MVP, earned through her outstanding talent on the water in multiple disciplines including swivel, barefoot, and jump. For the second year in a row, Ben Walker (Ski Sprites) earned the Male MVP award with his showmanship and multi-discipline talent as well.
Turning to individuals, Ellie Hartman (Ski Broncs) earned 1st place for swivel 180, followed by Chase Arevalo (Lake City) and Destiny Fuher (Aberdeen Aqua Addicts). Lexi Galang (Water Walkers) earned 1st place for swivel 360, followed by Madison Smith (Cypress Gardens) and Kendall Rezin (Rock Aqua Jays). 1st place for swivel open went to Brooke Gunderson (Aquanuts), followed by Sarah Fiedorowicz (Shermalot) and Hannah McGinnis (Rock Aqua Jays). Swivel 360 pairs was a true family affair, with sisters Abby LaFave and Clare LaFave (Ski Sprites) claimed the top spot, sisters Madison Smith and Malayna Smith (Cypress Gardens) taking 2nd, and sisters Sydney Belcher and Sophia Belcher (Bayside Skiers) taking 3rd.
Ely Bagley and Rylen Hildreth (Ski Broncs) took 1st place in intermediate doubles, with Lexi Galang and Joe Nagrant (Water Walkers) taking 2nd and Mackenzie Moeller and Justin Baird (Plum Skiters) taking 3rd. Open Doubles was led by Kelly Kraklow and Ryan Borton (Muskego Waterbugs), followed by Bella Seggelink and Alex Ignasiak (Muskego Waterbugs) and Connor Corley and Matt Czerniewski (LSL Arch Rivals).
Max Schlichting (Ski Broncs) was the sole competitor for intermediate freestyle jump, and Logan Fiedorowicz (Shermalot) front flip and gainer earned him 1st place in Men’s open jump. Dallas Hovda (Twin Bridge) took 2nd and Dane Engstrom (Ski Sprites) took 3rd. Lexi Galang continued her 1st place streak by earning 1st in women’s freestyle jump, followed by Ava Schlichting and Lily Roman, both from Ski Broncs. Ski Sprites took 1st in team jump.
