Briar’s Ski4All

August 22-23, 2026

Lance Park, Twin Lakes

Briar's Ski4All is a charitable event raising awareness and funds for Angelman Syndrome. Benefactor- Foundation for Angelman Syndrome Therapeutics and Angelman Syndrome Foundation. Our daughter, Briar, lives and thrives with Angelman Syndrome. AS is a neurogenetic disorder affecting approximately 1:15,000 live births. This syndrome involves the silencing, mutation, or deletion of  a specific gene, causing a lack of production of the UBE3A protein. Due to the lack of this protein, individuals with AS can have gross and fine motor challenges, sleeping disorders, epilepsy, are non speaking, cognition delays, and more. Due to wonderful doctors, researchers, and donors within the community of AS, there are multiple clinical trials underway, several in phase 3 of drug development! AS is not a one cure fixes all, as there are many types and locations of the mutation on the gene. Every dollar raised goes directly to the organizations responsible for steam-rolling these transformative treatments, bringing hope to our families and improving the quality of life of our loved ones.

My husband and I are long-time show skiers. I grew up skiing for Wonder Lake, Craig for the Muskego Waterbugs and a few stints on Team USA. We now ski as a family for the Muskego Waterbugs, where all four of our kids participate in the Junior program. We have made it our mission to make sure that the sport we love will be an inclusive environment for our daughter and all those living with different abilities.
