Team USA Sets Records at 2025 Adaptive Worlds!

The 2025 IWWF World Adaptive Water Ski Championships in Mulwala, Australia, delivered another unforgettable showcase of precision and elite athletic performance—and Team USA rose to the occasion. Across four days of intense competition, the American squad demonstrated exceptional skill in every discipline, earning podium finishes, personal bests, and standout performances that reinforced the United States’ long-standing reputation as a global leader in adaptive water skiing, including four new pending world records! We wanted to highlight those performances below:

Pending World Records: 

  • Abigayle Dunn: MP3(W) tricks, 1560 points
  • Noah Smith: MP1(M) Tricks, 920 points
  • Connor Poggetto: MP5(M) Jump, 28.5m (94ft)
  • Jana Shelfer: MP2(W) Tricks, 1340 points

Seated Women's:

  • Slalom: Abigayle Dunn secured the second spot, bringing home the silver with a score of 5.00/40 inner.
  • Tricks: Jana Shelfer secured the gold medal and the top spot on the podium with a score of 1340 points, and right behind her in the silver position was Abigayle Dunn with a score of 1450 points.
  • Jump: Jana Shelfer secured the silver medal with a distance of 13.2m (43ft), a twelve-foot improvement from her preliminary round. Securing the bronze medal was Abigayle Dunn with a distance of 11.3m (37ft).
  • Overall: Jana Shelfer earned the gold medal with an overall score of 2911.99 points, and Abigayle Dunn secured the silver with an overall score of 2792.97 points.

Seated Men's:

  • Slalom: Team USA took over the podium, with 2 out of 3 medals going to Team USA. Nicholas Fairall took the second place, earning the silver medal with a score of 2 buoys at 49kph (30.4mph), and Conner Poggetto took the bronze medal with a score of 4 buoys at 46kph (28.6mph).
  • Tricks: Conner Poggetto earned the gold medal with a score of 1920 points.
  • Jump: Conner Poggetto earned another gold medal for Team USA with a distance of 28.5m (94ft). Zak Jones earned a bronze medal with a distance of 17.2m (56ft).
  • Overall: Conner Pogetto took the top spot, earning his 3rd gold medal and 4th total medal!

Vision Impaired Men's:

  • Slalom: Mike Royal earned a bronze medal with a score of 2,5 buoys at 31kph (19.3mph).
  • Trick: Mike Royal took the second place spot, earning a silver medal with a score of 520 points, which was a little less than his impressive 910 points in the prelims.

Standing Women's:

  • Slalom: Elisha Nelson secured the silver medal with a score of 3 buoys at 52kph (32.3mph).
  • Tricks: Elisha Nelson got Team USA another gold medal with a score of 760 points.
  • Jump: Elisha Nelson earned the silver with her furthest jump happening in the prelims with a distance of 10.1m (33ft).
  • Overall: Earning her 4th medal, Elisha Nelson secured the silver with an overall score of 2050.37 points.

Standing Men's

  • Slalom: Craig Timm earned the gold medal with a score of 5 buoys at 55kph (34.2mph) 18.25m (15off). Cam Delligatti secured the bronze medal with a score of 1.5 buoys at 52kph (32.3mph).
  • Trick: Cam Delligatti won the silver medal with a score of 1830 points, which was a little lower than his impressive 2140 points in the prelims. Craig Timm took home the bronze with a score of 810 points.
  • Jump: Craig Timm won the gold medal with a distance of 29.4m (96ft). Cam Delligatti earned the silver with a distance of 15.9m (52ft).
  • Overall: Team USA dominated with a top 3 podium finish. Cam Delligatti earned the gold medal, Craig Timm earned the silver medal, and Gregg Stokes earned the bronze medal.

Overall Team Standings:

  • Team USA dominated throughout the whole event, earning themselves the gold medal and number one spot in the Overall Team scores. They had a total score of 14,102.80 points. Team Australia took second place with a total score of 9,969.19 points, and team Canada took the third spot with a score of 6352.96 points.
