55K WEST LogoU.S. water ski athlete Seth Stisher (Johns Island, S.C.) won the 55k World Elite Slalom Tour (WEST) #5, Oct. 15-16, at the Swiss Waterski Resort in Clermont, Fla. Stisher defeated Casey Contos (Anderson, Ind.) in the head-to-head finals, scoring 4 buoys at 39-1/2 feet off to Contos' 2-1/2 buoys at 39-1/2 feet off.

Barton Rachwal, Samuel Ingram and Noah Vieke rounded out the top-five placements in the 32-skier head-to-head finals.

WEST is a fresh slalom format for 55k cash prize H2H events. Some of the basic details are:
32 skiers in the H2H, CASH PRIZE
3L (those who don’t make the H2H get a third round of L)
32+ person H2H field featuring one of the most elite 34 mph fields in the World this year

Canada’s Dave Miller won the 55k WEST #4, June 25-26, at Lake 38 in Quincy, Fla. Don Aschenbrenner of Cornelius, N.C., won the 55k WEST #3, in September, 2021 at Lake 38. Ben Favret of Windermere, Fla., won the 55k WEST #2 in July 2021 at the Swiss Waterski Resort. Mark Menasci of Gilbert, Ariz., won the 55k WEST #1 in September 2020 at Lake 38.
