Jaquess Wins Women's Slalom At Travers Grand Prix Pro-Am

U.S. water ski athlete Regina Jaquess (Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.) won the women’s slalom title at the 2022 Travers Grand Prix Pro-Am, Oct. 7-8, at Jack Travers’ International Tournament Skiing and Sunset Lakes in Groveland, Fla.
Jaquess scored 2 buoys at 41 feet off in the finals to clinch the title. Canada’s Jaimee Bull (1 buoy at 41 feet off) and U.S. athlete Allie Nicholson (3-1/2 buoys at 39-1/2 feet off) of Gallatin, Tenn., rounded out the top-three placements.
Great Britain’s Will Asher won the men’s slalom title after a runoff with Great Britain’s Freddie Winter. After both tied with 1 buoy at 43 feet off in the finals, Asher won the runoff, scoring 1 buoy at 41 feet off to Winter’s ½ buoy at 41 feet off. Italy’s Brando Caruso placed third (4 buoys at 41 feet off).
The Grand Prix Pro-Am also included a team event. Two professionals were each paired with three amateurs on their team. Teams competed in three different events: slalom water skiing, go karts and skeet shooting. Complete Results (PDF).
