Six Athletes Win Titles At America's Cup Invitational

Six U.S. athletes won titles in respective events Thursday night in the 2022 America’s Cup Invitational at Mystic Lakes in Maize, Kan. The tournament was held in conjunction with the 80th Goode Water Ski National Championships and featured more than $30,000 in prize money.

 

Athletes winning titles were: Kevin Jack (Winter Haven, Fla.), men’s tricks; Anna Gay (Winter Garden, Fla.), women’s tricks; Nate Smith (McCordsville, Ind.), men’s slalom; Ali Garcia (Winter Garden, Fla.), women’s slalom; Freddy Krueger (Winter Garden, Fla.), men’s jumping; and Lauren Morgan (St. Louis, Mo.), women’s jumping.

 

The event was open to U.S. athletes only. The Open division at the 80th Goode Water Ski National Championships served as the qualification round for the America's Cup Invitational.
