Future Legends on the Water! U17 Worlds Results
The 2026 Under-17 Waterski World Championships was an incredible showcase of young talent, energy, and international sportsmanship. Hosted in Argentina, the event brought together some of the best junior athletes from around the world, all competing at an impressively high level under the International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation. Highlighted below are some of those performacnes.
Top U.S. performances:
- Alexia Abelson (USA) finished first in slalom with a score of 2@11.25m (38off), first in tricks with a score of 8220 points, and first in overall with a combined score of 2766.89 points. Quite the standout world championship performance for the U.S. junior team.
- Arnold Landon (USA) took the bronze in slalom with a score of 5.5@11.25m (38off) in the finals.
- Bret Ellis (USA) placed 3rd in the U17 boys jump with a distance of 52.9m (174ft) in the Prelim, and 50.8m (167ft) in the finals.
Other strong U.S. results:
- Several U.S. boys made it into the trick and jump finals including Giovanni Bloyer, Jacob Nelson, bode Bulfer, Bennett Covington Dash Kruger, and Bret Ellis.
- Several U.S. girls made it into the slalom and jump finals including Maya Maxson, Tia Byrne, Alexia Abelson, and Kate Nelson.
Overall impression:
The U.S. team had a very competitive team this year in Cordoba! They placed second in the Team Classification with a total score of 7484.03 points behind Ukraine who had a score of 7835.27.
