Midwest Regionals Tournament Recap
Ski Otters, Ski Dox win Midwest Regionals
A last minute site change 35+ miles away from the original tournament site did nothing to deter the Midwest region from bringing their all to the regional tournament. In less than 24 hours, Bayside Skiers moved the entire tournament to a new site due to high water levels and a no-wake order at their home site, and with the help of many skiers who arrived early for the tournament made it look and feel like the tournament had been planned for the new site the entire time. Resilience, determination, and a passion for the sport permeated the atmosphere, even with whitecaps on the lake and less-than-ideal conditions.
The Midwest Ski Otters exercised their way to the top spot in Division 1, earning a total of 1270.3 points. The Otters took home highest scoring ballet, jump, and barefoot awards, with their barefoot act taking home the highest scoring act.
