Midwest Region Wins 39th Collegiate All-Stars Water Ski Championships

The National Collegiate Water Ski Association’s Midwest Region won the coveted team title at the 39th Collegiate All-Stars Water Ski Championships, May 15-16, at Laku Landing in Windsor, Colo. The two-day event included the top-10 men and top-10 women from each of the NCWSA's four regions vying for the regional team title and individual titles in slalom, tricks, jumping and overall.
The Midwest Region tallied 7,935 points, followed by the Western Region (5,060 points), Southern & Atlantic Coastal Region (3,045 points) and South Central Region (1,180 points).
Individual event winners were: Carter Eaton (Anchorage, Alaska), men’s slalom (1-1/2 buoys at 38 feet off); Jana Grubbs (Rio Linda, Calif.), women’s slalom (2 buoys at 32 feet off), tricks (1,480 points) and overall (580 points); Charlsey Newman (McDonald, Tenn.), women’s jumping (112 feet); Dan Greene (St. Louis, Mo.), men’s tricks (4,020 points); and Brett Stackpole (Dow, Ill.), men’s jumping (142 feet) and overall (740 points).
