Host A GrassRoots Event#

Why host a GrassRoots Series event? To get new people, regardless of age and ability level, involved in organized towed water sports.

The GrassRoots Series is designed to be a turnkey package to hosting a novice-friendly event. Sanctioning a GrassRoots Series event has never been easier. The paperwork is minimal, the sanctioning process is painless, and the program allows for a lot of flexibility as to how to organize and conduct your tournament.

Hosting A GrassRoots Event
Hosting a GrassRoots event is easy and fun. Any USA Water Ski & Wake Sports club can sanction a GrassRoots event online as a standalone event for only $40, or add it to an existing event at no additional charge by visiting the “Event Sanctioning” page. The only required officials are a safety coordinator and a trained driver. Upon sanction approval, USA Water Ski & Wake Sports will provide event insurance.

There are two types of GrassRoots events to host:
GrassRoots Fun Day: Provides clubs the opportunity to invite the local community to the lake for a day of fun behind the boat; no competition format. Sanctioning the event as a GrassRoots Fun Day provides the club liability insurance coverage for the duration of the event, while reaping the benefits of hosting a USA Water Ski & Wake Sports GrassRoots event.

GrassRoots Tournament: Provides clubs the tools to host a simplified, ability-based tournament for competitors of all levels in an environment designed to help them increase their skills and confidence. Sanctioning a GrassRoots tournament provides the club with liability insurance coverage for the duration of the event, while reaping the benefits of hosting a USA Water Ski & Wake Sports GrassRoots event. Additionally, tournament results can be posted to the online GrassRoots Rankings’ List.
