Lake City Wins 2025 City of Lakes Show Ski Tournament

The Lake City Skiers not only hosted but also won the 2025 City of Lakes Tournament Saturday at Hidden Lake in Warsaw, Indiana. With a hardy crew of pirates and Captain Sparrow leading the way, Lake City swept the box scores by earning the highest scoring awards for dock and equipment personnel, sound crew, pick up boat crew, tow boat crew, production, showmanship, and highest scoring act with their one act show, totaling 1376.2 points.

Chippewa Lake took us along on Ferris Bueller's Day Off, earning a total of 1079.43 points, and Grand City Show Skiers brought us over the river and through the woods to the grandparents house for the summer and a total of 824.13.

Chase Averlo (Lake City) took 1^st in the Swivel 180 division while Ava Schlichting (Ski Broncs) took the top spot in Open Swivel. Ava Schlichting and Lily Roman (Ski Broncs) placed 1^st in Swivel Pairs and Lily and her doubles partner Dalton Myers (Ski Broncs) placed 1^st in strap doubles. Rounding out the individual competition, Andrew Hawblitzel (Lake City) and Ava Schlichting took 1^st in Men’s and Women’s Freestyle Jump, respectively.
