IWWF Seeks Bids For 2022 Show Ski Worlds

The International Waterski & Wakeboard Federationís Show Ski Council is now accepting bids to host the 2022 IWWF Show Ski World Championships. The time frame for the 2022 Show ski World Championships is late August to early September 2022. Interested hosts should request the complete bid package directly from Lieven Hardy, Show Ski Council Chairman, at lieven.hardy@hardy.be.

U.S. Wins Show Ski World Championships

The USA Water Ski Show Team won the team title at the 4th Show Ski World Championships, Sept. 8-9, on Peninsula Lake at the Deerhurst Resort in Huntsville, Ontario, Canada. The tournament featured all-star show ski teams from the United States, Australia, Belgium, Canada, China and Germany.

Rock Aqua Jays Win Show Ski Nationals

The Rock Aqua Jays (Janesville, Wis.) won the national team title at the 44th Indmar Marine Engines Division 1 Show Ski National Championships, presented by Polk County Tourism and Sports Marketing, Aug. 10-12, on the Rock River at Traxler Park in Janesville, Wis. The Rock Aqua Jays earned high-scoring awards for dock and equipment personnel, pick-up boat crew, towboat driving, high individual club act, barefooting, strap doubles, pyramid and jumping on their way to tallying a grand total 2,115.04 points and winning their 20th national title in the history of the event, and first since 2014.

Hartwick Huskys Win D2 Show Ski Nationals

The Hartwick Huskys (Delhi, Iowa) won the team title at the 18th Division 2 Show Ski National Championships, Aug. 4-5, at Shorewood Park in Loves Park, Ill. Hosted by the Ski Broncs Water Ski Club, the tournament featured five teams competing for the Division 2 show ski national title. The Division 2 Show Ski National Championships is comprised of teams and/or individuals not qualified by their respective regions for next weekendís 44th Indmar Division 1 Show Ski National Championships, presented by Polk County Tourism & Sports Marketing.

Oxbow Wins NSSA Eastern Regionals

The Oxbow Water Ski Show Team (Northampton, Mass.) won the team title at the 2018 Eastern Regional Show Ski Championships, July 28-29, in Northampton, Mass. Oxbow earned top awards for pick-up boat crews, towboat driving, showmanship, sound crew total, overall show, high individual club act, all-male act and all-female act on the way to tallying 1,400.13 points. The Maine Attraction Water Ski Show Team (Sanford, Maine) placed second with 1,213.43 points in the five-team field.

River Rats Win NSSA Midwest Regionals

The Twin Cities River Rats (Minneapolis, Minn.) won the team title at the 2018 Midwest Regional Show Ski Championships, July 28-29, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The River Rats earned top awards for pick-up boat crews, towboat driving, showmanship, sound crew total, overall show, ballet and jump on the way to tallying 1,767.07 points. The Little Crow Ski Team (New London, Minn.) placed second with 1,629.03 points in the six-team field.

Rock Aqua Jays Win WI State Show Ski Title

The Rock Aqua Jays Water Ski Show Team (Janesville, Wis.) won the team title at the 52nd Wisconsin State Show Ski Championships on Sunday at Lake Wazeecha in Wisconsin Rapids. The Rock Aqua Jays earned high-scoring awards for dock and equipment personnel, pick-up boat crews, towboat driving (tie), high individual clubs act, jump, barefoot and pyramid on the way to tallying a grand total of 1,870.06 points and winning the state title for the 18th time.

Wonder Lake Wins NSSA Central Regionals

The Wonder Lake Water Ski Show Team (Wonder Lake, Ill.) won the team title at the 2018 Central Regional Show Ski Championships, July 14-15, at Hidden Lake in Warsaw, Ind. Wonder Lake earned top awards for ballet, jump, towboat driving and sound crew on the way to tallying 1,660.4 points. The Backwater Gamblers (Rock Island, Ill.) placed second with 1,530.63 points in the seven-team field.
