USA Show Ski Team Accepting Applications

Applications are now being accepted for those skiers interested in competing as part of the 2016 USA Water Ski Show Team at the 2016 World Show Ski Tournament. The 3rd biennial event will be held Sept. 9-11, 2016, at Lake Wazeecha in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.

Entry Deadline For Show Nationals Is July 15

The official entry forms for the 2015 Division 1 Show Ski National Championships, presented by Polk County Tourism and Sports Marketing, and the 2015 Division 2 Show Ski National Championships are now available to download from the Show Skiing Web page on the USA Water Ski website. Please note that the Division 1 and Division 2 National Tournament Entry Forms have been recently updated. The most significant change is that all Division 1 and Division 2 individual and team entry forms must be received no later than the end of the day on July 15, 2015. This applies to all individual and team entries regardless of when your actual regional qualifying tournament is held.

USA Water Ski Show Team Seeks Volunteers

Chris Coupland and Doug Ribley, the co-show directors for the 2016 USA Water Ski Show Team, are seeking volunteers to fill support positions for the team. The USA Water Ski Show Team will compete in the 3rd IWWF World Show Ski Tournament, Sept. 9-11, 2016, in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.

Show Skiers Win Titles At All American

TJ Fellows won the novice division swivel title on Saturday at the 2015 All-American Show Ski Tournament in Winter Haven, Fla.Nine show ski athletes won titles in respective divisions Saturday at the 2015 All American Show Ski Tournament on Lake Silver in Winter Haven, Fla. In swivel, TJ Fellows (Haines City, Fla.) won the Novice division, scoring 10.70 points; Connie Carlin (Winter Haven, Fla.) won the 180 division, tallying 9.90 points; Stacey Brinkerhoff (Lake Alfred, Fla.) won the 360 division, scoring 14.23 points; and Erin Weston-Green (Winter Haven, Fla.) won the Open division, tallying 17.44 points.

NSSA To Begin Using New Box Score Sheet

Starting April†1, 2015, all scoring judges are†directed by the National Show Ski Association board of directors to complete the new Box Score Explanation Work Sheet, which will be given to the respective team in their packet at the end of the tournament.† One copy will go to the team and the original will go to the Officials Committee chairperson.

NSSA Selects Show Directors For Worlds

The National Show Ski Association has announced that Chris Coupland (Neenah, Wis.) and Doug Ribley (Medina, Ohio) will be the co-show directors for the 2016 USA Water Ski Show Team that will compete in the 2016 World Show Ski Tournament.

Aqua Skiers To Host 2016 World Tournament

The International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation has announced that the 2016 IWWF World Show Ski Tournament will take place at Red Sand Beach on Lake Wazeecha in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. The Aqua Skiers ski club will host the third biennial event, Sept. 9-11, 2016.

In Memoriam: Show Ski Pioneer Jack Lukes

Jack Lukes, 1930-2015John "Jack" Lukes Jr., age 84, of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., died Friday, Jan. 16 at Riverview Hospital. Jack was founder, charter president and lifetime member of the Wisconsin Rapids Aqua Skiers as well as the first chairman of the Wisconsin Water Ski Federation. He was inducted into the Wisconsin Water Ski Federation Hall of Fame, located at the Tommy Bartlett Water Ski Show in Wisconsin Dells. In 2010 he was the recipient of the USA Water Ski Foundationís Award of Distinction.
