USA Water Ski Show Team Seeks Volunteers

Chris Coupland and Doug Ribley, the co-show directors for the 2016 USA Water Ski Show Team, are seeking volunteers to fill support positions for the team. The USA Water Ski Show Team will compete in the 3rd IWWF World Show Ski Tournament, Sept. 9-11, 2016, in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.

Show Skiers Win Titles At All American

TJ Fellows won the novice division swivel title on Saturday at the 2015 All-American Show Ski Tournament in Winter Haven, Fla.Nine show ski athletes won titles in respective divisions Saturday at the 2015 All American Show Ski Tournament on Lake Silver in Winter Haven, Fla. In swivel, TJ Fellows (Haines City, Fla.) won the Novice division, scoring 10.70 points; Connie Carlin (Winter Haven, Fla.) won the 180 division, tallying 9.90 points; Stacey Brinkerhoff (Lake Alfred, Fla.) won the 360 division, scoring 14.23 points; and Erin Weston-Green (Winter Haven, Fla.) won the Open division, tallying 17.44 points.

NSSA To Begin Using New Box Score Sheet

Starting April†1, 2015, all scoring judges are†directed by the National Show Ski Association board of directors to complete the new Box Score Explanation Work Sheet, which will be given to the respective team in their packet at the end of the tournament.† One copy will go to the team and the original will go to the Officials Committee chairperson.

Aqua Skiers To Host 2016 World Tournament

The International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation has announced that the 2016 IWWF World Show Ski Tournament will take place at Red Sand Beach on Lake Wazeecha in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. The Aqua Skiers ski club will host the third biennial event, Sept. 9-11, 2016.

In Memoriam: Show Ski Pioneer Jack Lukes

Jack Lukes, 1930-2015John "Jack" Lukes Jr., age 84, of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., died Friday, Jan. 16 at Riverview Hospital. Jack was founder, charter president and lifetime member of the Wisconsin Rapids Aqua Skiers as well as the first chairman of the Wisconsin Water Ski Federation. He was inducted into the Wisconsin Water Ski Federation Hall of Fame, located at the Tommy Bartlett Water Ski Show in Wisconsin Dells. In 2010 he was the recipient of the USA Water Ski Foundationís Award of Distinction.

Club Insurance Program Renewed For 2015

USA Water Ski and Entertainment & Sports Insurance eXperts (ESIX) are pleased to announce the renewal of the USA Water Ski Club Insurance Program for 2015. The 2015 program will reflect the same terms and conditions as the expiring 2014 program. The program provides General Liability and Participant Accident coverage for USA Water Ski affiliated clubs with respect to the club operations, activities and exposures that fall outside of the scope of insurance provided by USA Water Ski as part of sanctioning.

NSSA Selects 2014 Award Recipients

Kendall Krieger was selected the National Show Ski Association's 2014 Female Athlete of the Year.The National Show Ski Association recently announced its 2014 award recipients. They will be honored at the USA Water Ski awards reception on Saturday, Jan. 24, at USA Water Ski headquarters in Polk City, Fla. The award winners are as follows: The Rock Aqua Jays Water Ski Show Team (Janesville, Wis.), Team of the Year; Kendall Krieger (Lake Bluff, Ill.), Female Athlete of the Year; Jayson Rishling (Wonder Lake, Ill.), Male Athlete of the Year; Steve Slatter (Janesville, Wis.), Official of the Year; Larry Meany (Waterloo, Iowa), Honorary National Director; Maggie Muleski (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.), Volunteer of the Year; David Rezin (Janesville, Wis.), Matt Heilman (Verona, Wis.), Tim Cullen (Janesville, Wis.), Don Heilman (Middleton, Wis.) and Dan Wang (Verona, Wis.), Presidentís Award; USA Water Ski Show Team, Thatís Incredible Award; and Jim Lauzon (posthumously), Lifetime Achievement Award.
