Poggetto’s World Adaptive Record Approved

Photography by JD Diamond Photography.The International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation’s Disabled Council has approved the MP5 men’s world tricks record of 1,490 points set by U.S. athlete Connor Poggetto (Sacramento, Calif.) at the 25th Barbara Bolding/Jim Grew Fund Adaptive Water Ski National Championships/U.S. Team Selection Trials, Sept. 5-8, in Paducah, Ky. The tournament featured the United States’ top adaptive water ski athletes competing for national titles in slalom, tricks, jumping and overall while trying to qualify for the 2019 USA Adaptive Water Ski Team at the same time.

2019 USA Adaptive Water Ski Team Selected

USA Adaptive Water Ski & Wake Sports (formerly Water Skiers with Disabilities Association), a sport discipline organization of USA Water Ski & Wake Sports, has announced the selection of the 2019 USA Adaptive Water Ski Team that will compete in the 14th Disabled Water Ski World Championships, July 22-28, 2019, in Skarnes, Norway. The selections were announced following the conclusion of the 25th Barbara Bolding/Jim Grew Fund Adaptive Water Ski National Championships, Sept. 5-8, in Paducah, Ky.

8 Athletes Win Titles At Adaptive Nationals

Eight athletes won national titles at the 25th Barbara Bolding/Jim Grew Fund Adaptive Water Ski National Championships, Sept. 5-8, in Paducah, Ky. The Adaptive Nationals featured the United States’ top adaptive water ski athletes competing for national titles in slalom, tricks, jumping and overall.

In Memoriam – Royce Andes, 1947-2018

Royce Andes, who introduced water skiing to the disabled community in 1983 with the development of the sit ski, passed away on May 5, 2018, at Enloe Hospital in Chico, Calif. The resident of Biggs, Calif., was 70 years old.
