Share:

The AWSA Towboat Committee has tested and certified the 2026 MalibuWakesetter 20 VTX as an AWSA Approved Ski Boat. An AWSA  Approved Ski Boat is defined as a three-event type ski boat capable of pulling waterskiers in most environments including smaller man-made or tournament type ski lakes. An Approved Ski Boat may be used for sanctioned practices, exhibitions, Basic Skills Clinics, and Grass Roots Class F tournaments. An Approved Ski Boat may not be used for three-event tournaments with a Class C or higher sanction classification.

An AWSA Approved Ski Boat undergoes an extensive on water evaluation and is assessed for power and acceleration, sound level, engineering and drivability, handling and maneuverability, wake and spray characteristics, and boat path deviation in a slalom course.

The Wakesetter 20 VTX is described by Malibu Boats as a family "crossover" boat capable of providing a platform for skiing, wakeboarding, and wakesurfing.
