Collegiate Wakeboard Nationals Begins Friday

The 15th Collegiate Wakeboard National Championships will be held Friday through Sunday at Cypress Black Bayou Recreation Area in Benton, La. Eleven universities will compete for the coveted team title. Arizona State is the defending champion. The event, being held in the Shreveport area for the third consecutive year, will feature a live webcast courtesy of Alliance Wakeboarding Magazine. Competition begins at 9 a.m. (CDT) each day.

Powers Wins Pan Am Wakeboard Title

U.S. wakeboard rider Daniel Powers (Orlando, Fla.) won the Open Men title on Sunday at the 2015 Pan American Wakeboard Championships in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Powers scored 84.61 points to win the gold medal over fellow U.S. rider Noah Flegel (Lighthouse Point, Fla.), who scored 84.11 points in earning the silver medal. With the victory, Powers earned a spot as the wakeboard athlete on the 2015 U.S. Pan American Games Water Ski Team. The XVII Pan American Games will be held July 20-23 in Toronto.
