Rock Aqua Jays Win Wis. State Show Title

The Rock Aqua Jays, the three-time defending national championship team, finished with a grand total of 1,821.54 points.The Rock Aqua Jays Water Ski Show Team (Janesville, Wis.) won the team title for the second consecutive year at the 48th Wisconsin State Show Ski Championships, July 17-20, at Lake Wazeecha in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. The Rock Aqua Jays, the three-time defending national championship team, finished with a grand total of 1,821.54 points. The Aquanuts (Twin Lakes, Wis.) placed second with 1,757.32 points.

Wonder Lake Wins NSSA Central Regionals

The Wonder Lake Water Ski Show Team (Wonder Lake, Ill.) won the 2014 Central Regional Show Ski Championships on Sunday in Loves Park, Ill. Wonder Lake finished with a grand total of 1,803.87 points. The Backwater Gamblers (Rock Island, Ill.) placed second with 1,652.6 points. Wonder Lake earned top scores for ballet, jumping, pyramid, towboat driving, sound crew and high individual club act.

Tampa Bay Wins NSSA Southern Regionals

The Tampa Bay Water Ski Show Team won the 2014 Southern Regional Show Ski Championships.The Tampa Bay Water Ski Show Team won the 2014 Southern Regional Show Ski Championships on Saturday in Oldsmar, Fla. Tampa Bay finished with a grand total of 1,689.37 points. Sarasota was second with 1,518.3 points. Tampa Bay earned top scores for dock and equipment personnel, pick-up boat crews, towboat driving, sound crew, overall show and high individual club act.

Rock Aqua Jays Win 2014 Mercury Open

AtkinsonThe Rock Aqua Jays Water Ski Show Team (Janesville, Wis.), the three-time defending national champion, kicked off its 2014 season by winning the Mercury Open Show Ski Invitational on June 21 on the Rock River in Janesville, Wis. The Rock Aqua Jays, which won show skiing's triple crown – the Mercury Open, Wisconsin State Championships and Division 1 Nationals – in 2013 for an unprecedented 10th time, finished with a grand total score of 1,887.77 points. The Wonder Lake Water Ski Show Team (Wonder Lake, Ill.), tallied 1,837.4 points in finishing runner-up.

Chippewa Lake Wins City of Lakes Event

The Chippewa Lake Water Ski Show Team (Chippewa Lake, Ohio) kicked off the 2014 show ski tournament season by winning the 2014 City of Lakes tournament on June 14 at Hidden Lake in Warsaw, Ind. Chippewa Lake had a grand total score of 1,212.25 points in winning the title over the host Lake City Skiers (1,189.53 points).

Champions Crowned At All-American

Savannah Scott of Naples, Fla., placed third in 180-Degree Swivel.Event winners in swivel, doubles, freestyle jumping and barefoot endurance were crowned at the 2014 All-American Water Ski Show Tournament, April 5-6, on Lake Silver in Winter Haven, Fla.

NSSA Seeks Development Instructors

The Team Development Committee of the National Show Ski Association is seeking applicants who wish to be "approved" instructors for on-water training. Individuals or couples who believe they are qualified to teach all aspects of show water skiing and offer best practice guidance with regards to the production and operations of a water ski show team and its overall organization are encouraged to apply.

Club Insurance Program Renewed

USA Water Ski and Entertainment & Sports Insurance eXperts (ESIX) are pleased to announce the renewal of the USA Water Ski Club Insurance Program for 2014. The program provides General Liability and Participant Accident coverage for USA Water Ski affiliated clubs with respect to the club operations, activities and exposures that fall outside of the scope of insurance provided by USA Water Ski as part of sanctioning.

NSSA Seeks Elite Athlete Nominations

The National Show Ski Association's board of directors is accepting nominations for the one open position of Elite Athlete to the NSSA board. The nominations will be closed June 1 and the election will be held at the Division 1 Show Ski National Championships in August. The term will begin at the end of Division 1 Nationals.
