Ray Finalist For SportAccord Award

U.S. disabled water ski athlete Joe Ray is a finalist for the annual SportAccord Spirit of Sport Awards. The Spirit of Sport Awards 2012 will be presented during the 10th annual SportAccord Convention on May 24 in Quebec, Canada. The annual awards commend the commitment and humanitarian spirit of SportAccord members who have made an exceptional and lasting contribution to using sport as a tool for positive social change.

Oberholtz Finalist For USOC Award

The United States Olympic Committee has unveiled finalists for the 2011 USOC Coach of the Year awards. Matt Oberholtz, USA Water Ski's 2011 Coach of the Year, is a finalist for the USOC’s Paralympic Coach of the Year. Three finalists were selected for each category, including National Coach of the Year, Paralympic Coach of the Year, Developmental Coach of the Year, Volunteer Coach of the Year and the Doc Councilman Science Award.

Disabled Nationals Set For Aug. 23-25

The nation's top disabled water ski athletes will compete for national titles in respective events at the 22nd Disabled Water Ski National Championships, Aug. 23-25, at Shortline Lake in Elk Grove, Calif.

Ray, Radmilovic Receive Honors

The Pan Am Confederation Disabled Council has selected U.S. disabled water ski athletes Joe Ray (Wilsonville, Ala.) and Jessica Radmilovic (Pine Grove, Calif.) as its Disabled Athletes of the Year. Ray and Radmilovic are now eligible for the respective IWWF Male and Female Disabled Athlete of the Year awards, which will be announced later this year.
