Hager Earns IWWF Pan American Award

Photo by JD Diamond PhotographyThe Pan American Confederation of the International Waterski & Wakeboard Federationís Disabled Council has selected U.S. athlete Elijah Hager and Canadaís Ashley Baerg as its Male Athlete of the Year and Female Athlete of the Year, respectively. Hager and Baerg are now eligible for the IWWF's respective Disabled Athlete of Year awards.

2017 U.S. Disabled Water Ski Team Selected

Chad Guzman was one of 13 athletes selected to the 2017 U.S. Disabled Water Ski TeamThe Water Skiers with Disabilities Association, a sport discipline organization of USA Water Ski, has announced the selection of the 2017 U.S. Disabled Water Ski Team that will compete in the 13th Disabled Water Ski World Championships, April 27-30, in Lake Macquarie, NSW, Australia. The selections were announced following the conclusion of the 2016 Disabled Water Ski National Championships, Oct. 13-15, in Harmony, N.C.

8 Athletes Win Titles At Disabled Nationals

Eight athletes won national titles at the 24th Disabled Water Ski National Championships, Oct. 13-15, in Harmony, N.C. The Disabled Nationals featured the United Statesí top disabled water ski athletes competing for national titles in slalom, tricks, jumping and overall.

The Skier Packet (PDF) for the 2016 Disabled Water Ski National Championships is now available to view and download. The 24th Disabled Water Ski National Championships will be held Oct. 12-16 at Skyview Lake in Harmony, N.C. To download the packet, click here (PDF). The competition will include more than 30 disabled water ski athletes from across the United States. Athletes interested in competing are encouraged to enter via online registration by clicking here. The entry deadline is 5 p.m. (EDT) on Friday, Sept. 23.

Australia To Host 2017 Disabled Worlds

The International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation has announced that the 2017 Disabled Water Ski World Championships will be held April 27-30, 2017, at the Myuna Bay Water Ski Club venue at Lake Macquarie, NSW, Australia. The U.S. Disabled Water Ski Team will be seeking to win an unprecedented fifth consecutive time at the 13th biennial tournament.

2016 IWWF Disabled Rule Book Now Available

The International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation's 2016 Rule Book and Competition Handbook for disabled water skiing is now available to view and download. These rules supersede all previous editions and addenda, and shall remain in effect until an amended edition of the rules is published.

Level 1 Adaptive Certification Program

The Water Skiers with Disabilities Association, a sport discipline organization of USA Water Ski, has created the Adaptive Water Ski Certification Program, which includes a comprehensive manual and testing materials. This manual is intended to introduce adapted water skiing equipment and teaching progressions to persons of all interests and levels of water skiing ability.
