Safety Rating Requirements Revised

The USA Water Ski board of directors recently approved several revisions to the requirements for people aspiring to obtain a Safety Coordinator rating.

Starting in 2010, those persons seeking a Safety Coordinator rating may satisfy the in-water/practical requirement of the safety training by successfully completing a recognized lifeguard/water rescue program (such as through the American Red Cross) as an alternative to completing USA Water Ski's existing in-water/practical safety training program. Proof of said lifeguard/water rescue certifications must be provided to and approved by USA Water Ski before a Safety Coordinator rating can be awarded. Those persons seeking a higher safety rating (State Safety and above) will still be required to successfully complete the existing USA Water Ski in-water/practical training program.

If you have any questions regarding USA Water Ski safety rating requirements please feel free to contact the USA Water Ski Competition Department at competition@usawaterski.org or 800-533-2972.
