In an effort to simplify its membership structure, the board voted to consolidate the existing $5 Basic Skills and $10 Guest memberships into one membership.

This "new" Guest membership is only available for use at USA Water Ski-sanctioned Basic Skills Clinics, Exhibitions/Ski Shows and Level II Club Practices at a cost of $7 each and provides temporary insurance coverage for non USA Water Ski members for the duration of the sanctioned event. Guest members may not jump over a ramp.

Guest members must complete an Event Membership Application, pay the $7 fee and sign an Event Waiver (retained by the event organizer), prior to participation at each event. Guest members will be issued a temporary membership receipt by the event organizer as proof of payment/coverage for the event.

Family Supporting Memberships Continued

The USA Water Ski board of directors also voted to continue offering family supporting dependent memberships for 2010. However, there is concern that clubs are allowing family supporting members to participate in club activities. Please note that only Active members may participate in USA Water Ski-sanctioned events. Supporting members must upgrade to Active status to be eligible to participate.

In addition, USA Water Ski-affiliated Clubs/Event Organizers should note that USA Water Ski’s Liability and Participant Accident insurance coverage is only in effect for USA Water Ski-sanctioned events (i.e., Level I and II Club Practices/Exhibitions, Clinics and Tournaments).
