2010 U.S. 35+ Water Ski Teams Selected

The American Water Ski Association has announced the selection of three 35+ (athletes age 35 and over) water ski teams that will represent the United States in international competitions in 2010.

The U.S. World 35+ Water Ski Team will compete in the World 35+ Water Ski Championships, Sept. 6-12, in Segrate, Italy. The U.S. Pan American 35-44 Water Ski Team and U.S. Pan American 45 and Over Water Ski Team will compete in the Pan American Water Ski Championships to take place in November (dates TBD) in San Bernardo, Chile.

The selections are pending AWSA board of directors' approval on January 30, 2010. The selections were made by the IAC's 35+ Subcommittee based on Nationals' scores by athletes who indicated their interest according to IAC approved and posted procedures.

Athletes selected to the U.S. World 35+ World Water Ski Team were: Janie Fausold (Pleasant Grove, Calif.), Women 3; Leza Harrison (Chuluota, Fla.), Women 3; Mary Koenig (Waterford, Mich.), Women 2; Connie Morris (San Diego, Calif.), Women 2; Lisa Lamb (East Troy, Wis.), Women 1; Ham Wallace (Nashville, Tenn.), Men 3; Tommy Newman (McDonald, Tenn.), Men 2; and Marc Shaw (Orlando, Fla.), Men 1.

Athletes selected to the U.S. Pan American 35-44 Water Ski Team were: Sandy Knight (Lake St. Louis, Mo.), Tony Knight (Lake Saint Louis, Mo.), Julie Krueger (Santa Fe, Texas) and Marc Shaw (Orlando, Fla.).

Athletes selected to the U.S. Pan American 45 and Over Water Ski Team were: Beverly Abbott (Santa Fe, Texas), Janie Fausold (Pleasant Grove, Calif.), Connie Morris (San Diego, Calif.) and Tommy Newman (McDonald, Tenn.).
