2020 U.S. Barefoot Water Ski Teams Selected

William FarrellThe American Barefoot Club, a sport discipline organization of USA Water Ski & Wake Sports, has announced the selections to the 2020 U.S. Elite, Junior and Senior Barefoot Water Ski Teams that will compete in the 2020 Barefoot Water Ski World Championships, April 11-18, in Liverpool, New South Wales, Australia.

For the eighth consecutive time, the biennial Elite Barefoot Water Ski World Championships will be held simultaneously with the biennial Junior and Senior Barefoot Water Ski World Championships. The Elite Barefoot Worlds is taking place for the 22nd time, the Junior Barefoot Worlds is taking place for the 14th time, and the Senior Barefoot Worlds is taking place for the 12th time. Athletes and teams from more than a dozen countries will compete for world team titles and world individual titles in wake slalom, tricks, jumping and overall.

Athletes that have been selected to the U.S. Elite Barefoot Water Ski Team are: Mike Caruso (Delray Beach, Fla.), Lexi McCauley (Louisville, Ohio), Brody Meskers (Chetek, Wis.), Brice Storman (St. Petersburg, Fla.), Brett Swanbom (Land O Lakes, Fla.) and Alex Youngblood (Highland, Mich.).

Athletes that have been selected to the U.S. Junior Barefoot Water Ski Team are: Megan Adams (Center City, Minn.), Orval Cyr (Chisago City, Minn.), Ellis Osborn (West Palm Beach, Fla.), Michael Sousa III (Center Harbor, N.H.), Brice Storman (St. Petersburg, Fla.) and Brett Swanbom (Land O Lakes, Fla.).

Athletes that have been selected to the U.S. Senior Barefoot Water Ski Team are: Blake Ehlers (Austin, Texas), William Farrell (West Sacramento, Calif.), Betsy Gilman (Gainesville, Ga.), Doug Jordan (Renton, Wash.) and Jerry Kanawyer (Byron, Calif.).

Dale Stevens (West Palm Beach, Fla.) and Jason Lee (Winter Haven, Fla.) will serve as the coaches. Landen Ehlers (Austin, Texas) will serve as manager.

At the 2018 Barefoot Worlds in Napanee, Ontario, Canada, the U.S. Junior Barefoot Water Ski Team and U.S. Senior Barefoot Water Ski Team each won respective overall team gold medals and the U.S. Elite Barefoot Water Ski Team earned the overall team silver medal.
