Athletes Selected For World Beach Games

USA Water Ski & Wake Sports is pleased to announce the four athletes that will represent the United States at the inaugural ANOC World Beach Games, Oct. 13-14, in Doha, Qatar. Organized by the Association of National Olympic Committees, the ANOC World Beach Games will be held in conjunction with the ANOC General Assembly. Approximately 1,360 athletes representing the five Olympic continents will compete in 17 different sports, including water ski jumping and wakeboarding.

U.S. water ski and wakeboard athletes selected to compete in the event were: Scot Ellis (Auburndale, Fla.), menís jumping; Brittany Greenwood (Little Rock, Ark.), womenís jumping; Jamie Lopina (Orlando, Fla.), womenís wakeboarding; and Guenther Oka (Cincinnati, Ohio), menís wakeboarding. The athletes were selected based upon availability and a pre-determined selection criteria approved by the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee.

The IWWF has previously organized IWWF Word Cup stops and also the 2007 IWWF Wakeboard World Championships in Doha at the Diplomatic Clubís Channel.†The Organizers have confirmed that the Ritz Carlton Channel will be the venue this time.
