U.S., Canada Split Titles At Can Am Challenge

The U.S. Under 17 and Under 14 Water Ski Teams placed first and second, respectively, at the 10th Can Am Team Challenge, Aug. 31-Sept. 1, at Shalom Park in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The two-day, world-record capability event featured team competitions between Canada and the United States. A six-member Under 17 Team and a six-member Under 14 Team represented each country.

Members of the 2019 U.S. Under 17 Can Am Water Ski Team were (alphabetical order): Brooke Boskus (Elkins, Ark.), James Bryans (Acworth, Ga.), Bodie Cole (Haines City, Fla.), Austin Collins (Murray, Ky.), Alyssa Drake (Oconomowoc, Wis.) and Blaze Grubbs (Rio Linda, Calif.).

The U.S. Under 17 Team tallied 8,492.73 points to Canada’s 7,813.65 points. Team scores were based on the top-three team members’ overall scores for each of the three events (slalom, tricks and jumping).

Members of the 2019 U.S. Under 14 Can Am Water Ski Team were (alphabetical order): Vittorio Bloyer (Lake Elmo, Minn.), Claire Covington (Martindale, Texas), Elizabeth Hall (Newnan, Ga.), Alexis Mishler (Milford, Ind.), Julie Mishler (Milford, Ind.) and Tri Johnson (Lakeland, Fla.).

The U.S. Under 14 Team tallied 6,965.40 points to Canada’s 8,652.10 points. Team scores were based on the top-three team members’ overall scores for each of the three events (slalom, tricks and jumping).
