Photography by JD Diamond Photography. The International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation’s Disabled Council has approved the MP5 men’s world tricks record of 1,490 points set by U.S. athlete Connor Poggetto (Sacramento, Calif.) at the 25th Barbara Bolding/Jim Grew Fund Adaptive Water Ski National Championships/U.S. Team Selection Trials, Sept. 5-8, in Paducah, Ky. The tournament featured the United States’ top adaptive water ski athletes competing for national titles in slalom, tricks, jumping and overall while trying to qualify for the 2019 USA Adaptive Water Ski Team at the same time.

In addition to winning the national tricks title with his world-record performance, Poggetto won national titles in Seated Men jumping and overall. His winning jump distance of 82 feet broke the new minimum standard to beat for this recently created category based on Hall of Famer Bill Bowness' 2003 79-foot record to set a national record. Poggetto also was selected to the 2019 USA Adaptive Water Ski Team, which will compete in the 14th Disabled Water Ski World Championships, July 22-28, 2019, in Skarnes, Norway.
