Jaquess Wins 2018 California Pro Am

U.S. water ski athlete Regina Jaquess (Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.) won the womenís slalom title on Sunday at the 16th California Waterski Pro Am, presented by Nautique, at Bell Acqua Lakes in Rio Linda, Calif. Jaquess defeated Franceís Manon Costard in the head-to-head finale, scoring 2 buoys at 41 feet off to Costardís 5-1/2 buoys at 39-1/2 feet off. U.S. athlete Makayla Haw (Rio Linda, Calif.) placed third.

The largest professional slalom water ski tournament in the United States featured nine of the top-10 International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation (IWWF) ranked menís skiers, and eight of the top-10 womenís skiers.

Great Britanís Will Asher won the menís slalom title, defeating Italyís Thomas Degasperi in the head-to-head finale. Asher scored 3 buoys at 41 feet off to Degasperiís 1 buoy at 41 feet off.

Menís and womenís amateur skiers from Canada and the Western United States also competed on Friday and Saturday. Greg Badal (Brentwood, Calif.) won the Masters Men title, while Ken Ferrante (Discovery Bay, Calif.) won the Amateur title.
