Aggies Win Collegiate Wakeboard Nationals

Texas A&M won the coveted team title at USA Wakeboardís 18th Collegiate Wakeboard National Championships, Aug. 24-26, at SMG Boats and Hangar 9 Wake Park in Conroe, Texas. The Aggies tallied 485 points in winning the national title for the first time. Arizona State finished second with 400 points, followed by Central Florida (370 points), Louisiana State (310 points) and Michigan State (285 points) in the 13-team field. The University of Florida, the three-time defending national champion, placed 10th.

The tournament consisted of seven divisions Ė Menís A, B, C and D, which were the top four riders for each school; Womenís A and B, which were the top two womenís riders for each school; and Wakeskate. All divisions were weighted equally and the final placement of each division determined the point total for that riderís school. In addition to the national team champion, menís and womenís individual national champions also were crowned.

Individual national champions were: Louisiana-Lafayetteís Trevor Duncan (Lafayette, La.), Menís A (66.67 points); Central Floridaís Keenan Allen (Winter Garden, Fla.), Menís B (85.00 points); Texas Stateís Ryan Morris (San Marcos, Texas), Menís C (86.67 points); Texas A&Mís Evan Williams (Plano, Texas), Menís D (83.33 points); Arizona Stateís Kathryn Consoer (Fremont, Wis.), Womenís A (78.33 points); Texas A&Mís Camille Zuliani (College Station, Texas), Womenís B (76.67 points); and Central Floridaís Camden Vaughan (Greenville, S.C.), Wakeskate (66.67 points).
