Badal Wins Nautique Big Dawg Stop No. 4

The fourth stop of the 2018 Nautique Big Dawg World Tour, presented by O’Brien, was held Saturday and Sunday at Laku Landing in Windsor, Colo., with U.S. athlete Greg Badal (Brentwood, Calif.) winning the title. Badal defeated fellow U.S. athlete Scott Larson (Canyon Lake, Calif.) in the head-to-head final, scoring 5 buoys at 39-1/2 feet off to Larson’s 1-1/2 buoys at 39-1/2 feet off. Now in its 13th season, the Big Dawg World Tour includes four qualifying stops around the globe at premier water ski venues as the top 34-mph slalom skiers who are 35+ battle it out for a spot in the Big Dawg World Tour Finals, which will be held Sept. 8-9 in Gaines, Mich.

Each tour stop included two rounds of 34-mph slalom action, followed by a bracketed 16-skier head-to-head finale.

Stop #1 - May 5-6 at Okeeheelee Park, West Palm Beach, Fla.; Winner – Canada’s David Miller

Stop #2 - June 16-17 at Cedar Ridge Ski Club, Canton, Miss. Winner – Canada’s David Miller

Stop #3 – June 3 -July 1 at Seseña Waterski Complex, Sesena Toledo, Spain
. Winner – Greg Sund (Stony Brook, N.Y.)

Stop #4 – Aug. 25-26 at Laku Landing, Windsor, Colo. Winner – Greg Badal (Brentwood, Calif.)
