Halt Wins Nautique Big Dawg Finals

The 2017 Nautique Big Dawg World Tour Finals, presented by O’Brien, took place Friday and Saturday at Bell Acqua Lakes in Rio Linda, Calif., with Switzerland’s Frederic Halt winning the title for the first time. Halt defeated Great Britain’s Jeremy Newby-Ricci in the head-to-head finals, scoring 3 buoys at 41 feet off to Newby-Ricci’s 2 buoys at 41 feet off. Now in its 12th season, the Big Dawg is exclusively pulled by the world-record setting Ski Nautique 200. For results, click here.

The 2017 tour included four qualifying stops around the globe at premier water ski venues as the top 34-mph slalom skiers who are 35+ battle it out for a spot in the Big Dawg World Tour Finals.

Each stop included two rounds of 34-mph slalom action, followed by a bracketed 16-skier head-to-head finale.

Stop #3 - July 1-2 at the Seseña Water Ski Complex, Toledo, Spain
 (Winner: Ivan Morros, Spain)

Stop #4 – Aug. 5-6 at the Little Mountain Ski Club, Maiden, N.C. (Winner: Jeff Rodgers, Ninety Six, S.C.)

Finals – Aug. 26 at Bell Acqua Lakes, Rio Linda, Calif. (Winner: Frederic Halt, Switzerland)
