Midwest Region Wins Collegiate All-Stars

The National Collegiate Water Ski Association’s Midwest Region won the coveted team title for the fourth consecutive year at the 36th Collegiate All-Stars Water Ski Championships, May 20-21, at Bullneck Lake in Scott, Ark. Hosted by the Bullneck Lake Ski Club and the University of Alabama and University of Arkansas water ski teams, the two-day event included the top-10 men and top-10 women from each of the NCWSA's four regions vying for the regional team title and individual titles in slalom, tricks, jumping and overall.

The Midwest Region tallied 13,400 points, followed by the South Central Region (11,480 points), Eastern Region (10,845 points) and Western Region (8,715 points).

Individual event winners were: Alabama’s Julianna Boskus (Elkins, Ark.), women’s tricks (2,930 points); Alabama’s Abbi Grathwohl (Martindale, Texas), women’s overall (1,050 points); Louisiana Lafayette’s Brittany Greenwood (Little Rock, Ark.), women’s jumping (130 feet); Alabama’s Samuel Greenwood (Little Rock, Ark.), men’s tricks (3,800 points) and overall (1,150 points); Louisiana-Monroe’s Tom Poole (Great Britain), men’s slalom (2-1/4 buoys at 38 feet off); Louisiana-Monroe’s Siani Oliver (Australia), women’s slalom (5 buoys at 35 feet off); Alabama’s Santiago Varas (Chile), men’s jumping (171 feet).
