Krueger, Gay Earn Best Of March Honors

USA Water Ski has selected Anna Gay (Winter Garden, Fla.) as its Female Athlete of the Month and Freddy Krueger (Winter Garden, Fla.) as its Male Athlete of the Month for March. Gay and Krueger are now eligible for the United States Olympic Committee’s Best of March Team USA Awards, presented by Dow.

Gay won the girls' tricks and overall titles at the 2017 Junior Moomba Masters, March 8-9, in Melbourne, Australia. Athletes competed for titles in slalom, tricks, jumping and overall. The Junior Moomba Masters determines champions by a two-round scoring total. Gay, 18, won tricks with a course record 10,440 points in round one and 10,220 points in round two. She also placed fifth in jumping (109 feet/113 feet) and seventh in slalom (1-1/2 buoys at 35 feet off/0 buoys at 35 feet off). She clinched the overall title with 2,597.90 points. Gay also placed third in women's overall (2,321.03 points) and sixth in slalom (1/2 buoy at 38 feet off) and tricks (7,390 points) at the 57th Moomba Masters International Invitational, presented by Nautique, March 10-13, in Melbourne, Australia.

Krueger won the men's jumping title at the 57th Moomba Masters International Invitational, presented by Nautique, March 10-13, in Melbourne, Australia. Krueger, 41, soared a Moomba Masters’ course-record 237 feet in the finals in defeating Canada’s Ryan Dodd (229 feet), who set a course-record of 232 feet a day earlier in the semifinals.
