Krueger, Smith Win At MasterCraft Shootout

U.S. water ski athletes Freddy Krueger and Nate Smith won titles in respective events Thursday at the MasterCraft Pro Water Ski Shootout at the Predator Bay Ski Club in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Krueger soared 233 feet in the finals of men's jumping in defeating Canada's Ryan Dodd (228 feet) and Russia's Igor Morozov (209 feet).

Smith scored 2 buoys at 43 feet off just a -buoy shy of tying his current world slalom record in winning the men's slalom title over fellow U.S. athlete Nick Parsons and Great Britain's Will Asher, who each scored 2 buoys at 41 feet off.

Canada's Whitney McClintock won the women's slalom title (6 buoys at 39-1/2 feet off), defeating U.S. athletes April Coble-Eller (1 buoy at 41 feet off) and Karen Truelove (5 buoys at 38 feet off).
