Athletes Of The Month Selected

USA Water Ski has selected Nick Lang (Gilbert, Ariz.) and Abbi Grathwohl (Martindale, Texas) as its Male Athlete of the Month and Female Athlete of the Month, respectively, for June. Lang and Grathwohl are now eligible for the United States Olympic Committee’s Athlete of the Month honors.

Lang won titles in Boys' tricks (6,950 points) and overall (2,967.0 points) at the 14th annual Lake Dwellers Junior U.S. Open Water Ski Championships, June 7-8, at Bullneck Lake in Scott, Ark. Lang also was selected to the 2014 U.S. Junior Water Ski Team based on his performances at the 2014 U.S. Junior Water Ski Team Trials, June 28-29, at Cedar Creek Ski Park in Elkins, Ark. The four-member team will compete in the 15th Junior Water Ski World Championships, Jan. 8-11, 2015, in Lima, Peru.

Grathwohl won titles in Girls' jumping (120 feet) and overall (2,597.7 points) at the 14th annual Lake Dwellers Junior U.S. Open Water Ski Championships, June 7-8, at Bullneck Lake in Scott, Ark. Grathwohl also was selected as an alternate to the 2014 U.S. Junior Water Ski Team based on her performances at the 2014 U.S. Junior Water Ski Team Trials, June 28-29, at Cedar Creek Ski Park in Elkins, Ark.
