Membership Growth Challenge Announced

USA Water Ski is pleased to announce the return of the Membership Growth and Club Incentive initiative for 2014 to encourage our members to bring new people into the sport. We all love our towed water sports and are looking to have more people experience the thrill of gliding effortlessly across the water, ripping through the wakes, getting air and simply enjoying the entire recreational and competitive experiences.

Four basic incentive initiatives have been created for 2014.

1. AWSA Regional Challenge: We challenge the five AWSA regions to see how many new members they can bring to USA Water Ski. Members must be registered in the Active (Full Active, Family Active or Under 25) or GrassRoots categories. While we welcome guest members, they will not be counted in this challenge. At the end of the year, Headquarters' computers will automatically tally the number of new USA Water Ski AWSA members. The region with the most new members will receive an incentive bonus of $200 for their Region to be used as the winning Region determines.

2. Club Membership Growth Challenge: We challenge all of our 600 USA Water Ski clubs to see which club enrolls the most new USA Water Ski members in 2014. Members must be registered in the Active (Full Active, Family Active or Under 25) or GrassRoots categories. While we welcome guest members, they will not be counted in this challenge. At the end of the year, Headquarters' computers will automatically tally the list of new USA Water Ski members for 2013 and determine which members have affiliated with a club. The club with the greatest number of new USA Water Ski members affiliated with them will receive a free club membership for 2015 and a $100 donation to their club (a $200 value).

3. Club Sanctioning Challenge: We challenge all of our clubs to see which club will host the most sanctioned events in these three separate categories during 2014: 1.) Basic Skills clinics; 2.) GrassRoots tournaments; 3.) officials' clinics. At the end of the year, Headquarters' computers will tally the three separate lists. The clubs with the most sanctions in each separate category will receive $100 cash.

4. Collegiate Challenge: We challenge our collegiate water ski and wakeboard clubs to promote membership. At the end of the year, Headquarters' computers will tally the list of USA Water Ski collegiate club members and determine which club had the most new members. The club with the most new members affiliated with their club will receive a complimentary USA Water Ski club membership for 2015 and a $100 donation to their club (a $200 value).

Note that new members are those people who have not been a previous member of USA Water Ski. We hope our USA Water Ski membership and sport disciplines will continue to embrace these growth incentives and help us encourage more people to get on the water and affiliate with USA Water Ski.
