The Team Development Committee of the National Show Ski Association is seeking applicants who wish to be "approved" instructors for on-water training. Individuals or couples who believe they are qualified to teach all aspects of show water skiing and offer best practice guidance with regards to the production and operations of a water ski show team and its overall organization are encouraged to apply.
Applicants shall meet the following qualifications:
• Minimum of eight years of experience in show water skiing
• Past experience as instructor
• Expertise in numerous capacities with an Active USA Water Ski member club/team
• Be an Active member of USA Water Ski with "NSS" as primary sport division
Your "instructor résumé" or bio and cover letter should describe your experiences in show water skiing participation and instruction. Be sure to indicate any other area of expertise as it relates to show production, boat driving, choreography, comedy, leadership, finance, governance, fundraising, marketing, recruiting, etc. If you charge a fee for your services, please be sure to include your rate(s).
Submit documents via email to Terry Pasterski, NSSA Team Development Committee Chair, at firstname.lastname@example.org. The subject line of your email message should be "NSSA Team Development Instructor."
If selected, you will be asked to travel on behalf of the NSSA Team Development Committee. This will consist of one weekend for the year, during the team’s skiing season. The weekend will be determined mutually by the team and the instructors. Typically in the past, teams have used the instructors for Friday night, Saturday and part of Sunday. The 16 hours can be divided up anyway that is mutual to you and the team. The NSSA will reimburse you for all reasonable travel expenses, including airfare or mileage, rental car, hotel accommodations, and meals. Instruction fees are the responsibility of the team.
If you are selected, you must have successfully completed the Level 1 Instructor certification course through USA Water Ski. This includes the Safe Sport program, with criminal background check and child abuse prevention/awareness training.
