With the goal of developing an innovative and contemporary brand identity within the water sport industry, the American Water Ski Educational Foundation is rebranding itself with a new name, logo, mission and set of strategic objectives. Formally launched Jan. 25 at USA Water Ski's annual awards banquet, the Foundation is now officially known as the USA Water Ski Foundation. With a complete rebrand and more contemporary logo, the Foundation demonstrates it’s repositioning for the future and new strategic vision.
The Foundation's headquarters is home to the sport's national governing body, USA Water Ski, which governs nine sport discipline organizations and is an official member of United States Olympic Committee. The Foundation also houses the Water Ski Museum and Hall of Fame, the International Waterski & Wakeboard Hall of Fame and a record-capability water ski lake. The building is located off of Florida’s I-4, halfway between Tampa and Orlando, and serves as an attraction in the central Florida area.
"The rebranding initiative will help us better articulate what we do and how we serve the towed water sports community and also be complementary to the national governing body,” said Tracy Mattes, USA Water Ski Foundation's executive director.
Along with the new logo and rebranding, the Foundation has a new four-year strategic plan in place. The leadership of the Foundation joined with industry leaders, elite athletes, and water ski and wake sports enthusiasts to create a new four-year strategic plan for the Foundation.
"We are confident that this set of strategic initiatives, which reflects thoughtful development and planning, synthesizes the most important aspirations of the USA Water Ski Foundation and provides a solid foundation to set goals, establish benchmarks, and express a clear vision and road map for our future," said Paul Chapin, USA Water Ski Foundation's president.
"We have entered into a new era of friendship and cooperation between the USA Water Ski and the Foundation as we work more closely together to achieve our common goals. Stronger and more united we take steps forward into an exciting future," Mattes said. "We believe our Foundation will serve as a wonderful vehicle to expand involvement in our sport and provide a means to attract and guide funds to new and innovative outreach and educational programs. As we continue honoring, preserving, fostering and sharing the living history of water skiing and all tow-able water sports through our museum and Hall of Fame, it seems fitting that this launch falls on the historic 75th Anniversary year of organized water skiing. This is a pivotal moment in our Foundation's history.”
