2014 USA Water Ski Show Team Selected

The National Show Ski Association, a sport discipline organization of USA Water Ski, has announced the athletes who will comprise the 2014 USA Water Ski Show Team at the 2nd annual IWWF World Show Ski Tournament, Sept. 12-14, 2014, in Janesville, Wis.

In competitive show skiing, each club has one hour to present a theatrical performance on water skis. Judges score acts by awarding points based on originality, presentation and execution. Elaborate costumes and staging intermix with music and fast action on the water as an announcer leads the audience through the show. The team rosters for the World Show Ski Tournament are limited to 35 total members, including skiers, boat drivers, announcers and show directors. David Rezin (Janesville, Wis.) and Matt Heilman (Verona, Wis.) are the show directors for the 2014 USA Water Ski Show Team.

"We believe we have assembled the absolute best that show skiing has to offer," Rezin and Heilman said in a statement. "The talent, versatility, and experience is unmatched. We have a combination of amateur and professional athletes who are the best in the world. We are excited to put together a fantastic show for the 2014 World Show Ski Tournament, and our hope is that this is the best ski show people have ever seen. With this compilation of talent, people aren't going to want to miss our performances at the World Show Ski Tournament."

The USA Water Ski Show Team won the team title at the inaugural IWWF World Show Ski Tournament in 2012 in Janesville, Wis. In addition to the United States, the inaugural tournament featured all-star show ski teams from Belgium, Canada, China and Australia.
