Krueger, Merritt Win World Cup Titles

U.S. athletes Freddy Krueger and Raimi Merritt won titles in respective events Sunday at the IWWF Water Ski & Wakeboard World Cup event in Palembang, Indonesia. Krueger won men's jumping with a distance of 210 feet (64.1 meters), while Merritt won women's wakeboarding, scoring 70.24 points. Events included men's and women's tricks, jumping and wakeboarding.

In other events, France's Clementine Lucine won women's tricks, scoring 8,840 points; Belarus' Aliaksei Zharnasek won men's tricks, tallying 11,270 points; Australia's Jacinta Carroll won women's jumping with a distance of 160 feet (48.9 meters); and Australia's Harley Clifford won men's wakeboarding, scoring 93.33 points.

Other U.S. athletes competing in the finals included Alex Lauretano, who placed third in women's tricks (8,100 points) and fourth in jumping (141 feet/43.1 meters); Scot Ellis, who placed fourth in men's jumping (195 feet/59.5 meters); Erika Lang, who finished fourth in women's tricks (5,280 points); Adam Pickos, who placed fifth in men's tricks (9,230 points); and Andrew Adkison, who finished third in men's wakeboarding (73.79 points).
