2020 Barefoot Nationals Schedule Available

The schedule of events for the 43rd Barefoot Water Ski National Championships is now available. The Nationals is scheduled for Aug. 20-23 on Action Water Sports’ Lake Grew in Polk City, Fla.

2020 Barefoot Worlds Postponed

Due to the Novel COVID-19 Virus, the International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation’s World Barefoot Council announced today the postponement of the 2020 Barefoot Water Ski World Championships. The biennial tournament was scheduled for April 11-18 in Liverpool, New South Wales, Australia. The New South Wales LOC will in the coming months monitor the situation closely with a plan to reschedule the event with a revised date for late 2020.

Barefooters Enjoy Mills Pond March Madness

Eric Coryer qualified for the 2020 Barefoot Water Ski World Championships.Sometimes barefoot water ski tournaments don’t go as planned. The 2020 Mills Pond March Madness started as a way to hold a “Neighborhood Tournament” for the SoFlo barefooters at Mills Pond Park in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. New Gold Coast Water Ski Club member Eric Coryer wanted to host the tournament with his newly purchased 1994 Malibu Flightcraft outboard with the custom “Franken Pole” Super Fly High.

Normand Prevails At New Year’s Day Event

Rachel Normand (Tega Cay, S.C.) became the first female to take top honors in the 43-year history of the famous Lake Norman New Year’s Day Barefoot Tournament. Her score of 576 points was more than double of second place, and is the fifth highest score ever. Normand is the current Senior women’s world champion, 2017 Water Ski Hall of Fame inductee and five-time world elite champion.

2020 U.S. Barefoot Water Ski Teams Selected

William FarrellThe American Barefoot Club, a sport discipline organization of USA Water Ski & Wake Sports, has announced the selections to the 2020 U.S. Elite, Junior and Senior Barefoot Water Ski Teams that will compete in the 2020 Barefoot Water Ski World Championships, April 11-18, in Liverpool, New South Wales, Australia.

31 Athletes Win National Barefoot Titles

Todd Fipps of Tennessee won Men B slalom with Scott Stouffer (left) and Paul Adams (right) placing second and third, respectively.Thirty one athletes won titles at the 42nd Barefoot Water Ski National Championships, Presented by Bank First, Aug. 22-24, at the Blue Moo in Alma Center, Wis. More than 70 barefoot water ski athletes competed in respective divisions for titles in wake slalom, tricks, jumping and overall during the three-day event.
