U.S. Wins Title At World Show Ski Tournament

The USA Water Ski Show Team successfully landed a seven-man front flip on both days at the 3rd World show Ski Tournament in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.The USA Water Ski Show Team won the team title at the 3rd IWWF World Show Ski Tournament, Sept. 10-11, at Red Sands Beach on Lake Wazeecha in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. The World Show Ski Tournament featured all-star show ski teams from the United States, Australia, Belgium, Canada and China. The USA Water Ski Show Team scored a grand total 1,944.92 points in winning its third consecutive world team title. Australia finished runner-up with 1,794.94 points, followed by Canada (1,684.32 points), China (1,585.30 points) and Belgium (1,540.18 points).

Zenk Wins Flaunt It Whirled Cup

Rachael Zenk of La Crosse, Wis., won the Open Division swivel title on Saturday at the 2016 Flaunt It Whirled Cup at Traxler Park in Janesville, Wis. Some of the world’s top swivel skiers competed in the event, which also include 360, Senior and 180 divisions.

Wonder Lake Wins D1 Show Ski Nationals

The Wonder Lake Water Ski Show Team (Wonder Lake, Ill.) won the national team title at the 42nd Indmar Marine Engines Division 1 Show Ski National Championships, presented by Polk County Tourism and Sports Marketing, Aug. 12-14, on the Rock River at Traxler Park in Janesville, Wis. Wonder Lake earned high-scoring awards for dock and equipment personnel, pick-up boat crews, towboat driving, showmanship, sound crew total and overall show on its way to tallying a grand total 1,957.94 points and winning its first national title since 2010 and fifth in the history of the event.

Lake City Skiers Win D2 Show Ski Nationals

The Lake City Skiers (Warsaw, Ind.) won the team title at the 16th Division 2 Show Ski National Championships on Aug. 6 at Hidden Lake in Warsaw, Ind. Hosted by the Lake City Skiers, the tournament featured four teams competing for the Division 2 show ski national title. The Division 2 Show Ski National Championships is comprised of teams and/or individuals not qualified by their respective regions for next weekend’s 42nd Indmar Marine Engines Division 1 Show Ski National Championships, presented by Polk County Tourism & Sports Marketing.

Oxbow Wins NSSA Eastern Regionals

The Oxbow Water Ski Show Team (Northampton, Mass.) won the National Show Ski Association's Eastern Regional Show Ski Championships, July 30-31, on the Connecticut River in Northampton, Mass. Oxbow earned high-scoring awards in pick-up boat crews, towboat driving, showmanship, sound crew total, overall show, ballet and jump in totaling 1,289.83 points. The Lake Mohawk Ski Hawks (Sparta, N.J.) placed second (1,122.67 points), followed by the US Water Ski Show Team (Scotia, N.Y.) with 1,110.57 points.

Waterhawks Win NSSA Midwest Regionals

The Waterhawks (Evansdale, Iowa) won the National Show Ski Association's Midwest Regional Show Ski Championships, July 30-31, at Eagle Lake in Evansdale, Iowa. The Waterhawks earned high-scoring awards in pick-up boat crews, towboat driving, high individual club act, pyramid and overall show in totaling 1,735.77 points. Little Crow (New London, Minn.) placed second (1,608.43 points), followed by the Twin Cities River Rats (Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minn.) with 1,459.9 points.

Rock Aqua Jays Win Wisconsin State Title

The Rock Aqua Jays Water Ski Show Team (Janesville, Wis.) won the Division 1 team title at the 50th Wisconsin State Water Ski Show Championships, July 21-24, at Lake Wazeecha’s Red Sands Beach in Wisconsin Rapids. Hosted by the Wisconsin Rapids Aqua Skiers, the tournament featured more than 25 teams in three divisions.

Wonder Lake Wins NSSA Central Regionals

The Wonder Lake Water Ski Show Team (Wonder Lake, Ill.) won the National Show Ski Association's Central Regional Show Ski Championships, July 9-10, at Hidden Lake in Warsaw, Ind. Wonder Lake swept the traditional box scores of dock and equipment personnel, pick-up boat crews, towboat driving, showmanship, sound crew total, overall show and high individual club act in tallying 1,854.4 points. The host Lake City Skiers placed second (1,500.8 points), followed by the Backwater Gamblers (Rock Island, Ill.) with 1,438.43 points and the Arch Rivals (Lake St. Louis, Mo.) with 1,411.37 points.

Rock Aqua Jays Win Mercury Open

The Rock Aqua Jays (Janesville, Wis.) won the 2016 Mercury Open show ski tournament on Saturday on the Rock River at Traxler Park in Janesville, Wis. The Rock Aqua Jays earned high-scoring awards for towboat driving, showmanship, sound crew total, overall show, high individual club act, ballet, doubles and pyramid in tallying a grand total of 1,672.5 points. The Wonder Lake Water Ski Show Team (Wonder Lake, Ill.) finished second with 1,606.6 points after earning high-scoring awards for dock and equipment personnel and pick-up boat crews.

Chippewa Lake Wins City Of Lakes Invitational

The Chippewa Lake Water Ski Show Team (Chippewa Lake, Ohio) won the 2016 City of Lakes Invitational on June 18 at Hidden Lake in Warsaw, Ind. Chippewa Lake earned high-scoring awards for dock and equipment personnel, towboat driving and showmanship in tallying 1,281.92 points. The Lake City Skiers (Warsaw, Ind.) finished second with 1,205.8 points after earning high scores for overall show, sound crew and pick-up boat crews.
