U.S. Earns Silver Medal At Ski Racing Worlds

The United States earned the overall silver medal and two U.S. athletes earned individual silver medals in respective divisions at the 20th Water Ski Racing World Championships, July 29-Aug. 5, on the Puget Sound at Point Ruston in Tacoma, Wash. Australia won the gold and Austria earned the bronze.

U.S. Water Ski Racing Teams Selected

Todd Haig, the 2005 men's world water ski racing champion, has been selected to the 2017 U.S. Elite Water Ski Racing Team.The National Water Ski Racing Association (NWSRA) has announced the selections to the 2017 U.S. Formula 1 Water Ski Racing Team, U.S. Formula 2 Water Ski Racing Team and U.S. Junior Water Ski Racing Team. Athletes selected to the teams will compete in the 20th Water Ski Racing World Championships, July 29-Aug. 5, on Lake Washington in Seattle, Wash., and the Puget Sound at Point Ruston in Tacoma, Wash. The athletes were selected based upon a combination of accumulated point totals in marathon events during the 2016-2017 season and selection committee approval.

14 Athletes Win National Ski Racing Titles

Fourteen water ski racing athletes won titles at the 12th annual U.S. Open Water Ski Racing National Championships, Oct. 8-9, at Havasu Springs in Parker, Ariz. The National Water Ski Racing Association, a sport discipline organization of USA Water Ski, hosted the two-day competition.
