Changes To Trained Driver Renewals

Due to COVID-19 and the challenges it presents in working events in 2020, the USA Water Ski & Wake Sports Risk Management Committee and board of directors have voted to make the following changes to the Trained Driver rating renewal requirements for 2021 renewals only. These temporary changes will not be reflected in Trained Driver program documents.

USA-WSWS 'Return To Play' Announcement

As our communities begin to re-open and get back to some sense of normalcy, USA Water Ski & Wake Sports has been working diligently with the USOPC and our sport discipline organizations to create “return to play” guidelines for our sport. First and foremost, the health and safety of our members is our top priority. These return to play guidelines are meant to provide athletes, coaches and event organizers with best practices and recommendations regarding return to safe water ski activity. Individual water ski activity is considered low risk for COVID-19 transmission; however, the circumstances around COVID-19 are changing constantly.

Member Alert: Disciplinary Records Update

Please be advised that the following individual has been suspended Until Further Notice by the U.S. Center for SafeSport and USA Water Ski & Wake Sports. Taylor Berndt (Fremont, Wis.) – Suspension. Accordingly, this individual is prohibited from participating, in any capacity, in any activity or competition authorized by, organized by, sanctioned by, or under the auspices of USA Water Ski & Wake Sports or the USOPC, and/or any Local Affiliated Organizations of USA Water Ski & Wake Sorts (including any USA Water Ski & Wake Sports associations and clubs).

Statement Regarding Novel COVID-19 Virus

USA Water Ski & Wake Sports is committed to supporting the health, safety and well-being of our members and the public at large. Regarding the Novel COVID-19 Virus and USA Water Ski & Wake Sports sanctioned events, USA Water Ski & Wake Sports strongly recommends that all sanctioned events scheduled over the next four weeks be canceled or postponed as a public safety measure. Local organizing committees (ski clubs) do have the final say on if an event will proceed. However, USA Water Ski & Wake Sports is advising each host to strongly consider cancelation or postponement.

Get On The Water Week, June 27-July 3

Get On The Water LogoUSA Water Ski & Wake Sports is pleased to announce its inaugural Get on the Water Week will be held June 27-July 3. USA Water Ski & Wake Sports, along with ski clubs across the country, will host free learn to ski events! USA Water Ski & Wake Sports is covering the cost of sanctioning and guest memberships for all ski clubs who participate in Get on the Water Week! The week coincides with the anniversary of Ralph Samuelson being the first to successfully water ski on July 2, 1922.

Club Insurance Program Renewed For 2020

USA Water Ski & Wake Sports and EPIC Entertainment & Sports are pleased to announce the renewal of the USA Water Ski & Wake Sports Club Insurance Program for 2020. The program is optional and available exclusively to USA Water Ski & Wake Sports affiliated clubs in good standing.
