Scott Atkinson is the director of communications as well as publisher and editor of The Water Skier magazine. As director of communications, Scott oversees all facets of USA Water Ski's Communications Department, including media relations; the content and development of www.USAWATERSKI.org; and the day-to-day operations of The Water Skier, the official publication of USA Water Ski. His duties as editor and publisher of The Water Skier include developing, writing and editing articles; shooting photography; and hiring and coordinating freelance writers and photographers.

A native of central New York, Scott earned his bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pa. He began his employment at USA Water Ski in 1998 after working as a sports journalist and copy editor for a handful of daily newspapers on the east coast. When away from work, Scott enjoys the beach, playing golf and softball, and spending time with his family. He lives in Orlando.
