USA Water Ski has announced the selection of the 2009 U.S. Wakeboard Team. The six-member team will compete in the 8th IWSF Wakeboard World Championships, Aug. 24-29, in Chuncheon, South Korea. USA Wakeboard, one of nine sport disciplines of USA Water Ski, selected the team.
The boat draw for the 67th GOODE Water Ski National Championships is now available. The Nationals will be held Aug. 11-15 at Okeeheelee Park in West Palm Beach, Fla.

USA Water Ski has selected Freddy Krueger (Winter Garden, Fla.) and Regina Jaquess (Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.) as its Male and Female Athletes of the Month, respectively, for June. The Rock Aqua Jays Water Ski Show Team (Janesville, Wis.) was selected team of the month. Krueger, Jaquess and the Rock Aqua Jays Water Ski Show Team are now eligible for the United States Olympic Committee's Athlete and Team of the Month honors.
The Tampa Bay Water Ski Show Team won the team title Sunday at the National Show Ski Association's 2009 Southern Regional Show Ski Championships. Tampa Bay tallied 2,116 points to win the title over Sarasota (2,035 points) and Southern Extreme (1,681 points).
U.S. water ski athlete Freddy Krueger won the men's jumping title Saturday at the inaugural Global Marine Invitational at Placid Waters in Allendale, Mich. The competition featured men's slalom and jumping and a cash-prize purse of $30,000.
USA Water Ski announced today the selection of the 2009 U.S. Under 13 Water Ski Team. The four-member team will compete in the Can Am Challenge, Sept. 4-6, in Jerseyville, Ill. The Can Am Challenge is a biennial event featuring teams from the United States and Canada competing for overall team titles only. It marks the first time the event – that also features 17 to 21 and Junior teams – will hold an Under 13 team competition.
USA Water Ski announced today the selection of the 2009 U.S. Elite Water Ski Team following the conclusion of the 2009 U.S. Water Ski Team Trials, June 19-21, in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. The six-member team will compete in the 31st Water Ski World Championships, Aug. 4-9, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The United States has won four consecutive world team titles at the biennial world championships.
The American Water Ski Association's International Activities Committee selected three water ski teams – junior, 17 to 21 and under 21 – to represent the United States in international competition this year following the U.S. Water Ski Team Trials, June 19-21, at the Cory Pickos Ski & Wakeboard School in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.

U.S. water ski athlete Chris Parrish won the men's slalom title Sunday at the professional water ski tour event at Mirror Lakes in Catawba, N.C. In the head-to-head finale, Parrish clinched the title by scoring 2-1/2 buoys at 41 feet off to fellow U.S. athlete Chris Rossi's 2 buoys at 41 feet off.
