Aqua Skiers Win D2 Show Ski Nationals

The Wisconsin Rapids Aqua Skiers (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.) won the team title at the 15th Division 2 Show Ski National Championships, Aug. 1-2, on Kwahamot Bay. Hosted by the Kwahamot Water Ski Club, the tournament featured nine teams competing for the Division 2 show ski national title. The Division 2 Show Ski National Championships is comprised of teams and/or individuals not qualified for the Division 1 Show Ski National Championships by their respective regions.

Athletes, Team Of The Month Selected

Adam PickosUSA Water Ski has selected Adam Pickos (Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.) and Nate Smith (McCordsville, Ind.) as its co-Male Athletes of the Month and Regina Jaquess (Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.) as its Female Athlete of the Month, for July. The U.S. Under 21 Water Ski Team was selected team of the month. The athletes and team are now eligible for the United States Olympic Committee’s Team USA Best of July honors.

AWSA Regionals Wrap Up This Weekend

The American Water Ski Association will conduct its last two regional championships of the year this weekend. The Eastern Regional Water Ski Championships will be held Thursday through Sunday in Sparta, Va., while the Midwest Regional Water Ski Championships will be held Friday through Sunday in Wilmington, Ill. Twin Cities Wins NSSA Midwest Regionals

The Twin Cities River Rats (Minneapolis, Minn.) won the team title at the 2015 Midwest Regional Show Ski Championships, July 24-26, in Albert Lea, Minn. The River Rats tallied 1,480.87 points in winning the title over the Ski Otters (White Bear Lake, Minn.), which scored 1,465.6 points.

Running Orders Set For NSSA D1 Nationals

The National Show Ski Association is pleased to announce the field of teams and individual competitors for the 41st Indmar Marine Engines Division 1 Show Ski National Championships, presented by Polk County Tourism and Sports Marketing. The Nationals will be held Aug. 7-9 at Shorewood Park in Loves Park, Ill. Hosted by the Ski Broncs, the tournament will feature 14 teams.

Oxbow Wins NSSA Eastern Regionals

The Oxbow Water Ski Show Team (Northampton, Mass.) won the team title at the 2015 Eastern Regional Show Ski Championships, July 25-26, in Farmington, Conn. Oxbow tallied 1,251.17 points in winning the title over the Lake Mohawk Ski Hawks (Sparta, N.J.), which scored 1,175.57 points.

U.S. Team Wins 8 Medals At Pan Am Games

Adam Pickos won the gold medal in men's tricks.TORONTO – Five U.S. Pan American Water Ski Team members combined to win eight medals, including three gold, in respective events at the XVII Pan American Games, July 20-23, at Ontario Place West Channel. The U.S. Pan American Water Ski Team finished with three gold medals, three silver medals and two bronze medals during the four-day competition.

Jaquess, Powers Win Silver At Pan Am Games

Daniel Powers earned the silver medal in wakeboarding on Wednesday at the XVII Pan American Games.TORONTO – U.S. Pan American Water Ski Team members Regina Jaquess (Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.) and Daniel Powers (Orlando, Fla.) each won silver medals in respective events on Wednesday at the XVII Pan American Games at Ontario Place West Channel.

U.S. Athletes Advance At Pan Am Games

Regina Jaquess earned the top seed for the finals of women's jumping with a distance of 164 feet.TORONTO – U.S. Pan American Water Ski Team members Regina Jaquess (Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.), Erika Lang (Gilbert, Ariz.), Adam Pickos (Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.) and Daniel Powers (Orlando, Fla.) each advanced to the finals in respective events on Tuesday as preliminary-round action in water skiing (jumping) and wakeboarding continued at the XVII Pan American Games at Ontario Place West Channel. Jaquess advanced in women's jumping and overall; Lang advanced in women's overall; Pickos advanced in men's overall; and Powers advanced in wakeboarding.
