Baldwin, Canepa Win Junior Masters Titles

U.S. water ski athlete Brooke Baldwin won her third consecutive Junior Women's overall title at the 24th Nautique Junior Masters Water Ski Tournament.U.S. water ski athletes Brooke Baldwin (Windermere, Fla.) and Ryan Canepa (Elk Grove, Calif.) won respective titles at the 24th Nautique Junior Masters Water Ski Tournament on Friday at Callaway Gardens' Robin Lake in Pine Mountain, Ga. Baldwin won Junior Women's slalom for the second consecutive year and Junior Women's overall for the third consecutive year. She also placed second in tricks and third in jumping. Canepa earned his first career Junior Masters title, winning Junior Men's slalom.

Masters, Junior Masters This Weekend

U.S. athlete Nate Smith is the defending Masters slalom champion.The 57th Masters Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament, presented by GM Marine Engine Technology, will be held Saturday and Sunday on Robin Lake at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Ga. The 24th Nautique Junior Masters Water Ski Tournament will take place on Friday at the same venue. Both the Junior Masters and Masters will be available for viewing via a live webcast at www.masterswaterski.com.

Ski Racing Nationals Set For Oct. 8-9

The National Water Ski Racing Association has announced that the 12th annual U.S. Open Water Ski Racing National Championships will be held Oct. 8-9 at Havasu Springs Resort on Lake Havasu in Parker, Ariz. The athletes will draw for pole positions, make a deep-water start at the drop of a green flag and race in lanes for a designated number of laps.

Wild Card Q&Ps Posted For 35+ Worlds

As a special exemption to the rules, the 2016 35+ Water Ski World Championships will allow each national federation to enter five wild card competitors in addition to the Federation team and any qualified individual skiers as shown in the current rules. In addition to these five wild card entries, the International Water Ski & Wakeboard Federation’s Tournament Council also is allowing each national Federation to enter five wild card entries for the 65+ division. USA Water Ski will enter up to five wild card entries total for the 35+, 45+, and 55+ age divisions and an additional five wild card entries for the 65+ age division. Officials Needed For GOODE Nationals

The American Water Ski Association is in need of volunteer judges and scorers to help out during the 74th GOODE Water Ski National Championships, Aug. 8-13, in Caldwell, Idaho. All Regular and Senior Judges and Scorers who are planning to attend the Nationals and would like to volunteer some time to work an event should contact Tim Vaio at tvaio@mindspring.com with your judges rating level; days you will be available to work; and what events you would be willing to work.

Midwest Region Wins Collegiate All-Stars

The National Collegiate Water Ski Association’s Midwest Region won the coveted team title for the third consecutive year at the 35th Collegiate All-Stars Water Ski Championships, May 14-15, at Borderline Lake in Blaine, Wash. Hosted by the Western Washington University water ski team, the two-day event included the top-10 men and top-10 women from each of the NCWSA's four regions vying for the regional team title and individual titles in slalom, tricks, jumping and overall.

2016 World University Team Selected

The National Collegiate Water Ski Association has selected six athletes to represent the U.S. World University Water Ski Team at the 2016 FISU World University Water Ski Championships, Sept. 6-11, in Akita, Japan. The team was selected following the 2016 U.S. World University Water Ski Team Trials, May 13-14, at Borderline Lake in Blaine, Wash.

Collegiate Wakeboard Nationals Announced

USA Wakeboard, a sport discipline organization of USA Water Ski, has announced that the 2016 Collegiate Wakeboard National Championships will be held Sept. 15-17 in Gulf Shores/Orange Beach, Ala. Sixteen teams, including the defending champion University of Florida, are expected to compete in the 16th annual event, where individual titles and the coveted team title will be up for grabs.

Disabled Nationals Set For Oct. 12-16

U.S. disabled water ski athete Craig Timm.The Water Skiers with Disabilities Association, a sport discipline organization of USA Water Ski, is pleased to announce the 24th Disabled Water Ski National Championships will be held Oct. 12-16 at Skyview Lake in Harmony, N.C. The competition will include more than 30 disabled water ski athletes from across the United States.

Smith, Jaquess Win Swiss Pro Titles

U.S. water ski athletes Nate Smith (McCordsville, Ind.) and Regina Jaquess (Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.) won the men’s and women’s slalom titles, respectively, on Sunday at the Swiss Pro Slalom at the Swiss Ski School in Groveland, Fla. Some of the world's top slalom water ski athletes competed in the event.
